We welcome visits from groups and societies, but please note these must be booked in advance.
Group Visits
We welcome visits from groups and societies to the Framework Knitters’ Museum. Group visits for 8 or more people must be booked in advance.
The minimum group size is 8 and the maximum is 30. Group visits are charged at £9 per person and are subject to a minimum charge of £100 for out of hours bookings.
Smaller groups and individual visitors are very welcome to visit during our normal opening hours without booking.
Types of Group Visit
Groups of fewer than 8 people can explore the museum independently during normal opening hours. A volunteer or member of staff will always be on hand to offer guidance and provide a demonstration.
Groups of 8 or more people must book a group visit. Visits can take place during normal opening hours, or outside opening hours, when your group will enjoy exclusive access to the museum, Chapel and shop.
Group visits are available during our peak season (February to November), subject to availability. Evening visits may also be possible, subject to availability and the minimum group charge.
Please allow at least two hours for your visit so you can enjoy everything the museum has to offer.
Refreshments
If you would like refreshments before or after your visit, a selection of pastries, cakes and light lunches can be provided in our café, garden area or the Chapel Gallery.

Costs for Group Visits
During normal opening hours
Groups will be charged our standard admission prices.
Outside normal opening hours
The charge is £9 per adult and are subject to a minimum charge of £100 per group.
Booking a Group Visit
Please contact the museum in advance to discuss your group’s requirements and to check availability. We recommend booking at least three weeks before your planned visit.
Please note that we are a small charity, and availability—particularly for out-of-hours visits—will depend on staff and volunteer availability.

For groups of 10 or more people, a 50% deposit is required to confirm the booking. Full payment, including the cost of any refreshments ordered, must be made before the date of your visit.
We accept payment by cash, cheque, BACS transfer, and credit or debit card.
Outreach Visits
We also offer outreach visits, where a member of our team can come to your group or organisation to give a talk about the Framework Knitters’ Museum and its history.
Outreach visits are ideal for community groups, clubs and societies. Please contact us to discuss your requirements, availability and costs.
