Summer FWK Victorian Dress Up

Make the most of your visit this summer with a range of family-friendly activities included with museum admission. Whether you’re trying your hand at a traditional lawn game, stepping back in time in Victorian clothing, or discovering fascinating objects from the past, there’s something for all ages to enjoy.

Quoits on the Lawn

Challenge your family and friends to a game of quoits in the museum grounds. This traditional lawn game has entertained people for generations and is a great way to enjoy some friendly competition while exploring the site.

Victorian Dress-Up

Step into the shoes of a Victorian and try on a selection of period costumes. Dress as a mill worker, gentleman or lady of the era and capture a memorable photo during your visit.

Object & Traditional Toys Handling

Get hands-on with history by exploring a selection of historical artefacts from the museum’s handling collection. From classic favourites to toys that Victorian children would have recognised, there’s plenty of fun to be had while discovering how life has changed over the years. Discover what they were used for, the materials they were made from, and how they would have been part of everyday life.
