Chapel Gallery Winter Exhibition: Lace Through the Years

This year’s winter exhibition in our Chapel Gallery will feature a variety of lace, ranging from modern-day to over a hundred years old.

The exhibition will combine pieces from the UK, plus examples from many countries showing distinct variation. Each piece has a unique history and with fascinating stories associated with it.

Some pieces have been hand-made or hand assembled by Wymeswold Threads members, much has been donated or bought from charity shops.

Wymeswold Threads have received significant help from the Lace Guild to identify the different styles, and the Cluny Lace Company who donated the beautiful lace made on their machines.
