We Value our Friends!
The Friends are a huge asset to the Framework Knitters Museum.
Over the years, they’ve donated many items to our collections, as well as buying practical equipment for the museum, such as new computers and the large audio visual screen in the Chapel.
As of summer 2017, the Friends have raised an amazing £10,400 towards our Redevelopment & Expansion Appeal.
Much of this is the proceeds from a daring Sponsored Wing Walk undertaken by Friends President, Kathy Powis, in autumn 2016!
Interested in Joining?
Joining the Friends is a great way to meet new people and try new experiences, whilst supporting the museum at the same time.

Top 10 places to visit in Ruddington
My sister and I loved this museum. Especially the guided tours explaining how the machines work and the working and living conditions of the frame knitters at the time.
Even got the chance to take a look at Queen Victoria’s stockings in the former methodist church across the cottages. Excellent museum! Very entertaining and interesting! Lovely to see such a local and ordinary history preserved

Terrific Museum
Second visit to this fascinating museum, a veritable storehouse of social history, staffed by knowledgeable, enthusiastic folk.
Some steps may prove difficult for the elderly or infirm but there’s plenty to appreciate at ground level.
